Web Developer
Job Description
The day-to-day responsibilities include working with customers and product managers to define product requirements and developing web user interfaces and APIs. The primary objective will be to thoroughly support business needs to develop intuitive web products. The position is an Associate level position reporting to the IT Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with user and product managers to define product requirements
- Coding, testing and debugging programs and web user interfaces according to product requirements and QA test plans
- Exploring and recommending web technology and user interface constructs
- Communicating with a team that includes analysts, engineers, QA associates, customers and product managers
- Developing web application prototypes
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of web development experience and software development experience with languages such as Java, C++ or equivalent
- Strong jQuery, JavaScript, CSS and HTML skills
- Extensive Java experience a plus
- Groovy/Grails experience a plus
- A passion for quality of end-user applications and a desire to solve problems for stakeholders
- Good project management skills or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and thrives in a high pressure, agile and distributed development environment
- Keen attention to detail
