Introducing our New Production Animal CVI Wet-Ink Signature Workflow

by Ali Oaks | September 4, 2024

Veterinarians in rural and remote areas often face challenges maintaining compliance due to limited internet connectivity. To address this, we are launching a new workflow for Production Animal Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI). This additional workflow within the GVL Compliance Assistant platform enables veterinarians to prepare the CVI prior to the appointment and sign with a wet-ink signature after inspecting the animals, ensuring state compliance and smooth animal movement.

Why It’s Important:

As more states require electronic CVIs, veterinarians need a reliable way to ensure compliance while conducting inspections in remote settings. Our new workflow was designed with these challenges in mind, allowing seamless pre-inspection preparation and straightforward wet-ink signature certificate completion.

How It Works:

  • Prepare in the Clinic: The veterinarian can generate the Production Animal CVI before the inspection, selecting the wet-ink signature option and printing out the CVI.
  • Field Inspection: After inspecting the animals, the veterinarian updates the printed CVI, signs the document, takes a picture for record-keeping, and provides it to the owner or transporter.
  • Post-Inspection Reconciliation: Within 48 hours, the clinic updates the electronic CVI, uploads the signed image, and completes the electronic signature for final submission to the states of origin and destination.

Key Benefits:

  • Compliance, even in areas with limited connectivity
  • Streamlined workflow that fits the realities of fieldwork
  • State reporting integration ensures smooth data transfers

The new workflow ensures that veterinarians working in remote areas can maintain compliance without compromising efficiency. Check out this video for an overview of this new workflow!
