In an update to the public last week, the FDA announced that all but one animal drug company have committed to seek withdrawal of approvals for any production uses of affected drug applications and change the remaining therapeutic uses of their products from over-the-counter to use by Veterinary Feed Directive or prescription. These changes stem from the implementation of FDA Guidance #213 that was announced in December of last year. The FDA is pleased with the strong responses received thus far and promises to continue to provide updates to the public. For the official announcement from the FDA, read here.
